Birth and postnatal doula, supporting families in Kent and South London

I want to help you have a good birthing experience and become the mum you want to be

Your body, your baby, your choice. Always.

Hello, I'm Laura. I live in Tonbridge, Kent, with my husband and 2 kids. I spent the first decade of my career working as a TV producer in the UK and Australia, making much-loved shows like Grand Designs, Gogglebox, First Dates and One Born Every Minute.

During my time on One Born, I was lucky enough to spend many hours with women before, during and after their births. Being part of their life-changing experience was an incredible privilege and something I wanted to do more of. Years later, I found out about the role of the doula, trained with the Birth Bliss Academy and there was no looking back.

I’m passionate about normalising birth in all its forms and am here to support you with compassion and understanding as you make your unique transition to motherhood. I will never make your decisions for you or tell you how to have your baby. I will always support you unconditionally while you do that for yourself.

Birth itself, while utterly magical and life-changing, is also unpredictable, uncontrollable and all-encompassing. I will provide a constant source of calm support, who is there for you throughout, protecting your space, your choices and your experience. I want you to feel listened to – not just by me, but everyone involved in your birthing experience. I want you to feel central to the decision-making process in each moment of your pregnancy and birth so that whatever happens, you can look back and feel satisfied that you were in control.

In the postnatal period, I will do everything I can to support you to become the mum you want to be. Whether it's caring for your baby while you care for yourself, looking after the housework so you can hang out with your baby in peace, or lending a non-judgemental supportive ear while you navigate the profound change that you've experienced, I will be there.

It’s a big privilege for me to walk alongside women, supporting them as they make their profound transition to motherhood. It’s why I became a doula; it’s a woman centered profession and that’s really what I’m about. I care about you and how your birth makes you feel: informed, free from suffering and supported, with compassion.
